Microsoft’s Phone Link wasn’t working (again), and my Canadian cloud service was as slow as molasses. It was at that moment I realized e

Apple is planning a huge shakeup to its naming scheme for software updates. Bloomberg reports that this year’s iOS update won’t be called iOS 19 after all. Instead, Apple is planning to call it “iOS 26” as part of a new year-based naming strategy. Here’s exactly what that means for all of Apple’s platforms … iOS 26 (yes, really) What this means is that at WWDC next month Apple will announce the following new software versions: iOS 26 (instead of iOS 19) macOS 26 (instead of macOS 16) iPadO

Apple is going to change how it names its next set of major operating systems, Bloomberg reports. Instead of just notching up the version number, Apple will instead mark them by year. However, the numbers will apparently align with the year after the one the update is actually released in, similar to cars. That means that the next big iOS update will be iOS 26 instead of iOS

Robert Triggs / Android Authority Material 3 Expressive is pretty — I get it. It’s fluid, responsive, and has all the fun and eye-catching animations that I want from a modern interface when I look at my phone. But as Google explained all the work that went into making this gorgeous new design, as well as the process of updating all of its own apps to match it, my mind kept wandering to one thought: But why? Why waste time fixing what isn’t broken instead of adding useful features we’ve wanted

I'm the lead software engineer at a company building a B2B hardware/software product in the US. Great team, great technology, great PMF and good progress on revenue targets. There are lots of opportunities for how to develop the product further. It's been an extremely hard scale-up but we are finally starting to see it pay off. I'm struggling with the CEO being increasingly focussed on investing heavily in AI. I'm not opposed to using this tech at all – it's amazing, and we incorporate a variet

I’ve found a way to configure private, custom domains for web-apps I have running on my computer. So instead of having to remember and type “localhost:4333”, I can simply navigate to “appname.localhost”. I love it! Here’s how the system works: Each app is set up as a launchd daemon listening on a unique port. Here’s an example plist. I configure /etc/hosts to redirect traffic to these domains to 127.0.0.1 instead. I then run and configure Caddy to redirect traffic from 127.0.0.1 to the rig
