BMW let journalists test-drive a pre-production 2027 iX5 equipped with a new driver-assistance feature called Symbiotic Drive, which allows hands-off highway steering while letting drivers manually accelerate, brake and even stop without disengaging the system. The SUV also features a 17.9-inch angled touchscreen running a responsive infotainment system with an integrated AI voice assistant.
General Motors is upgrading its 30-year-old OnStar service to incorporate AI, aiming to extend its usefulness beyond the vehicle itself and into daily life. The original system let drivers press a button to reach a human agent for navigation, directions, or emergency response after a crash.
Anthropic has released Claude Duet, a research preview of an always-on AI agent available to US-based Pro and Max subscribers via a gradual waitlist rollout. Meta has suspended the conversation-sharing feature in its Muse AI assistant after security firm Claroc found that over 6,800 shared chat links were discoverable through public DNS records. Some of the exposed pages contained sensitive business documents and personal financial information accessible without any login. Meta spokesperson Tracy Clayton said sharing has been paused while the company reviews the report and considers changes to how links are generated.
Security researchers at Claroc found that Meta's Muse AI assistant embedded conversation titles in subdomains, making shared chat links discoverable through public passive DNS records. The firm enumerated roughly 6,800 shared Muse conversation links with a single DNS query and found sensitive personal and business information inside many of them. Meta has suspended the sharing feature while it evaluates changes.
Yelp introduced a feature called Check for Me that lets app users have an AI voice agent call a restaurant to ask about wait times, after entering party size and phone number, with results sent back via text. Bee, the wearable AI startup Amazon acquired over a year ago, has released two new AI devices along with a Pro subscription tier and software updates. The flagship, the Bee Frontier, replaces the original Pioneer with a smaller, lighter design, more color options, IP67 water and dust resistance, and dual noise-filtering microphones. It retains the same 7-day battery life and USB-C charging as its predecessor, and still lets users record and summarize conversations via a single button press.
