More than a month into its beta release, Apple's updated Siri AI is proving capable of answering personalized queries by pulling from a user's messages, emails and other on-device data, such as past hotel costs or old contact details. The assistant remains slow to respond even to simple requests, according to a 9to5Mac columnist's hands-on account.
Nirva, founded in 2025 by ex-Meta Reality Labs employees Wei Lyu and Jason Chen along with jewelry designer Hanying Hu, closed a $25 million pre-Series A round. Combined with an earlier $8 million from investors including Lightspeed and South Park Commons, the startup has now raised $33 million total. Its first product is an eight-gram pendant or bracelet with a three-day battery that is designed to listen only to the wearer's own voice, using onboarding voice samples to filter out other speakers.
Amazon has released two new Bee-branded devices that continuously record and transcribe conversations: the $75 wristband or clip-on Bee Frontier, with up to seven days of battery life and improved noise filtering, and the $100 phone-mounted Bee Eclipse. Amazon says the devices generate summaries, spot recurring themes and suggest actions or purchases, while asserting raw audio is never stored and users can delete transcripts. The Bee Frontier ships Thursday; the Bee Eclipse is coming soon.
At Meta's Connect event, CEO Mark Zuckerberg introduced Muse Charm, a small keychain-sized device that houses Meta's Muse AI agent and its animated avatar, called Jolly, on a tiny screen. Users activate it via a fingerprint sensor to talk to the assistant instantly without unlocking a phone or opening an app, and Zuckerberg said the device is set to ship in time for the December holidays.
At IFA 2026, Singapore's Lingverse introduced iKairos, a device that functions as a desktop AI companion but can be removed from its robot base and worn as a neck pendant. The device gathers contextual data from both settings and feeds it into Lingverse's LifeOS to generate personalized suggestions, such as recommending activities based on recurring conversation topics.
