Remedy's Control Resonant, the sequel following Dylan Faden's search for his missing sister Jesse amid a Hiss invasion of Manhattan, has been benchmarked across 28 graphics cards. The game supports full path-traced lighting via Nvidia's RTX Mega Geometry technology alongside the complete DLSS 4.5 suite, including Super Resolution, Ray Reconstruction, and Multi Frame Generation.
A modder known as dashdogy has released a workaround that unlocks Nvidia's DLSS Multi Frame Generation feature, normally exclusive to RTX 50-series cards, on older RTX 40-series and earlier GPUs. Tom's Hardware tested the mod in Cyberpunk 2077 and confirmed it genuinely boosts perceived smoothness beyond the officially supported 2X multiplier, complete with the same visual artifacts seen on official 50-series hardware.
A modder known as ShyVox released 'DLSS Unlocked,' which merges the OptiScaler_DLSSNR and DLSS Enabler projects into one installer that adds DLSS 5 and multi-frame generation support to RTX 20-, 30-, and 40-series cards. On RTX 20 and 30 GPUs, AMD's FSR 3.1 handles frame interpolation since Nvidia's own pipeline isn't supported, while RTX 40 cards use Nvidia's DLSS-G for the first generated frame and FSR 3.1 for the rest, enabling up to 6x frame multiplication.
Nvidia pushed an update through its App that appeared aimed at disabling unofficial mods enabling DLSS Multi-Frame Generation on RTX 40-series GPUs, a feature officially reserved for the newer RTX 50 Blackwell cards. Modders quickly found workarounds, restoring the feature across several games including Resident Evil 9 and Forza Horizon 6 within hours of the update landing.
Nvidia confirmed DLSS 5 will officially launch this week, with NBA 2K27 as its sole debut title, ahead of a wider rollout to other games. Nvidia's own 4K benchmarks show only the RTX 5080 and RTX 5090, using 6X Multi Frame Generation plus DLSS Performance mode, with underlying render rates of roughly 39 and 62 FPS before frame generation inflates the final numbers to 233 and 370 FPS.
