Nvidia has agreed to acquire Hugging Face, the widely used open AI model distribution platform, for $12.93 billion. Hugging Face will keep its brand and remain open to third-party models, clouds, and hardware, according to Nvidia.
On the morning of Sept. 3, multiple leading AI chatbots—OpenAI's ChatGPT, Anthropic's Claude, Google's Gemini and xAI's Grok—went down around the same time, roughly 9:30 a.m. ET. Anthropic confirmed an infrastructure issue affected Claude.ai, Claude Code, Claude Cowork and its API, restoring service by about 12:16 p.m. ET, while other providers' services also returned to normal later that day.
