"Microsoft Locked My Account – I Lost 30 Years of Photos and Work"

I’m beyond frustrated. Microsoft randomly locked my account after I moved 30 years' worth of irreplaceable photos and work to OneDrive. I was consolidating data from multiple old drives before a major move—drives I had to discard due to space and relocation constraints. The plan was simple: upload to OneDrive, then transfer to a new drive later. Instead, Microsoft suspended my account without warning, reason, or any legitimate recourse. I've submitted the compliance form 18 times—eighteen—and e

It feels like I have a password for everything: my bank account, my Amazon Echo Show and even my Netflix app. With so many different devices and accounts, coming up with unique, strong passwords -- and remembering them -- can be overwhelming. It's tempting to get lazy and use the same password for multiple accounts. It's a relatable move, and it's one scammers are counting on. The risks of using old passwords or including personal information in a new one is a big risk to your data and identity

How to set up a WhatsApp account without Facebook or Instagram

There's no shortage of reasons to stay off the Meta ecosystem, which includes Facebook and Instagram, but there are some places where WhatsApp remains the main form of text-based communication. The app is a great alternative to SMS, since it offers end-to-end encryption and was one of the go-to methods to send uncompressed photos and videos between iPhone and Android users before Apple adopted RCS. Even though Facebook, which later rebranded to Meta, acquired WhatsApp in 2014, it doesn't require

Is your phone provider’s autopay discount really worth it?

Edgar Cervantes / Android Authority Autopay is easily one of the most convenient ways to pay your bills, especially if you’re like me and struggle to keep track of everything manually. Without autopay, it’s easy to accidentally miss a payment if you’re not careful. In the past, I’ve used autopay for nearly everything — from health and car insurance to utility bills, recurring entertainment subscriptions, and, of course, services like phone plans that offer discounts for autopay enrollment. A VPN is vital when you are traveling or when you have to use public Wi-Fi networks. They forge an encrypted tunnel between your device and the service you are trying to access, which can prevent eavesdropping and stop you from being so e
