Apple is expanding its age rating system for apps. The company on Thursday said it has updated its age rating system to add 13+, 16+, and 18+ ratings to the existing slate of 4+ and 9+ ratings, and remove the 12+ and 17+ age ranges. In addition, app developers will need to answer a new set of age rating questions to help identify the sensitive content in their app. Developers will also be able to update their apps’ age ratings to one of the new options, if needed. The company says it has automa

Apple this week launched a new AppleCare One plan – a way to buy AppleCare+ for multiple devices for one monthly fee. The exact coverage it offers depends on the mix of devices you have, and the cost depends on how many, but you’ll almost certainly save money over buying separate plans for each. I always pack a second phone when I travel, and you should too

Joe Maring / Android Authority The LG G4 is one of my favorite smartphones, but there was a time it almost left me stranded at an airport. Ever since this ordeal (and yes, I still get stress sweats thinking about it), I’ve made s

Low-Temp 2D Semiconductors: A Chipmaking Shift

Chipmaking giants like Intel, Samsung, and TSMC see a future where key parts of silicon transistors are replaced with semiconductors that are only a few atoms thick. Although they’ve reported progress toward that goal, that future is generally thought to be more than a decade away. Now, a startup spun out of MIT thinks it has cracked the code for making commercial-scale 2D semiconductors and expects chipmakers to have integrated them in advanced chips in half that time.
