Nintendo Switch 2 Review: Price, Specs, Availability

Switch 2: Switch Harder. Sure, that's a glib summation of one of the most eagerly anticipated games console launches of all time, but it is, nevertheless, apt. The Nintendo Switch 2 isn't the sort of generational leap PlayStations or Xboxes offer, but rather a refinement of what's worked for the last eight years. In short, it elevates, hones, and polishes almost every facet of the original Switch to deliver what is almost its ultimate form. The similarities are apparent from the moment you open

AMD's new AI roadmap spans new Instinct GPUs, networking, software, and rack architectures

Editor's take: In the ever-evolving world of GenAI, important advances are happening across chips, software, models, networking, and systems that combine all these elements. That's what makes it so hard to keep up with the latest AI developments. The difficulty factor becomes even greater if you're a vendor building these kinds of products and working not only to keep up, but to drive those advances forward. Toss in a competitor that's virtually cornered the market – and in the process, grown in

After a series of tumors, woman’s odd-looking tongue explains everything

Breast cancer. Colon cancer. An enlarged thyroid gland. A family history of tumors and cancers as well. It wasn't until the woman developed an annoying case of dry mouth that doctors put it all together. By then, she was in her 60s. According to a new case study in JAMA Dermatology, the woman presented to a dermatology clinic in Spain after three months of oral unpleasantness. They noted the cancers in her medical history. When she opened wide, doctors immediately saw the problem: Her tongue wa

Google surprisingly brings back Snapseed with major 3.0 update on iPhone

Google today surprisingly released a major 3.0 update for Snapseed that entirely redesigns the photo editing app on iPhone and iPad. Given the lack of major updates in several years, it seemed that Google abandoned Snapseed. Since the app worked locally and has no server-side component, it seemed like the company was happy to let the beloved editor linger. The last notable update to Snapseed for iOS was in 2021, with very minor updates in 2023 and 2024. Google today released version 3.0.0 of S

Coming to Apple OSes: A seamless, secure way to import and export passkeys

Apple this week provided a glimpse into a feature that solves one of the biggest drawbacks of passkeys, the industry-wide standard for website and app authentication that isn't susceptible to credential phishing and other attacks targeting passwords. Apple Execs Get Seriously Flustered Trying to Explain the Company's Dismal AI Failure

Apple is facing some intense scrutiny after yet again flubbing its AI tech. Google DeepMind is sharing its AI forecasts with the National Weather Service

It launched a new website where you can see its predictions. Here's an AI-government collaboration of a less… unsettling variety than some. Google DeepMind is teaming up with the National Hurricane Center (NHC) for tropical cyclone season. The AI research lab claims it can predict hurricane paths and intensities with at least the same accuracy as traditional methods. NHC forecasters have already begun using DeepMind's AI model. Google says they're designed to support, not replace, human NHC fo
