Even More Shrimp Just Got Recalled Because of Radiation, at More Grocery Stores

Image by Getty / Futurism Developments Alas, nuclear waste may have seeped into a greater share of delectable sea bugs than initially believed. On Thursday, the US Food and Drug Administration said that even more bags of frozen shrimp are being recalled for possible radioactive contamination after another company, Southwind Foods, voluntarily pulled its product. "I think they're doing the recall as a precautionary approach," Barbara Kowalcyk, director of the Institute for Food Safety and Nutr

This MagSafe gaming controller is giving LG Wing vibes, and we are here for it

TL;DR Abxylute is planning to release a Bluetooth gaming controller that takes advantage of MagSafe/Qi2. When attached to your phone, the controller can live out of way on the back, and pivot down for a quick gaming session. Sales are set to begin this October, but pricing has yet to be revealed. Who doesn’t love it when phones get a little weird? Foldables are cool and all (especially when we start getting into multi-fold territory) but when it comes to one-of-a-kind designs, there’s nothing

The issue of anti-cheat on Linux (2024)

The number of people choosing Linux as their primary operating system to play games has been slowly but steadily going up, at least according to the Steam hardware survey. This is most likely because of the Steam Deck release and the increasingly obnoxious features being added to Windows. If you switch to Linux today, you’ll probably be surprised by how many games run out of the box just fine (mostly due to the Windows compatibility layer Proton built right into Steam), except for basically all

The Trump Phone Looks Like This. No, Wait, It Looks Like This

Trump Mobile has teased its T1 Phone once again, saying, "The wait is almost over!" The question is, what exactly are we waiting for? This week, the company showed off on social media two distinctly different and seemingly Photoshopped looks for the T1, also known as the "Trump Phone." A Trump Mobile Instagram post shows what appears to be an iPhone 16 Pro Max with a gold finish and a US flag. A post on X (and another on Instagram) shows what looks a lot like a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. Both de

Motorola Razr Ultra 2025 deal: Is it better than the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7?

Ryan Haines / Android Authority The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 may be getting more attention, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s your best flip phone option. Many will prefer the Motorola Razr Ultra 2025, especially at the current discounted price point. This offer puts both phones at the exact $1,099.99 cost, but the Motorola handset usually is $1,399.99, and many would argue it is actually a better phone. Buy the Motorola Razr Ultra 2025 for just $1099.99 ($200 off) This offer is available

Apple accuses Android brand of trade secret theft in wearable tech showdown

Aamir Siddiqui / Android Authority TL;DR Apple is suing OPPO, accusing the company of stealing Apple Watch trade secrets through a former employee. Engineer Chen Shi allegedly downloaded 63 confidential files and shared research details with OPPO before leaving Apple. Apple claims OPPO encouraged Shi’s actions to gain an unfair advantage in wearable tech development. Corporate espionage is more common than many of us realize, but two tech giants are at the center of a particularly dramatic e

The US government is taking a 10 percent stake in Intel

President Donald Trump says the US government is taking a 10 percent stake in chip maker Intel. Trump shared the news during a press conference on Friday, though an official announcement is still forthcoming, Reuters reports. News of a plan to convert Intel's previously promised CHIPS Act funding into equity in the company was first reported earlier in August. A meeting between Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan and Trump following the President's call for Tan to resign seems to be the source of the deal. "H

Ghislaine Maxwell Says She First Met Elon Musk at Sergey Brin’s Birthday Party

Elon Musk infamously threw Donald Trump under the bus in June when he insisted that the president was “in the Epstein files,” a reference to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. But a newly released interview with Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell might put the spotlight back on Musk when it comes to all things Epstein. Maxwell, who’s in prison for sex trafficking a minor, was recently interviewed by Todd Blanche, the president’s former personal attorney and now a top official at the U.S. D

Have You Ever Seen a Black Moon? Neither Have We, but One Is Coming This Weekend

Have you ever wondered what it's called when the opposite happens? There is a name for it, and it's happening this weekend -- the emergence of the black moon. The term black moon isn't an official term, but rather a nickname for when a new moon fulfills certain conditions. Typically, each season has three new moons just like it has three full moon

That’s the case with Chen Shi, a former Sensor System Architect for the Apple Watch team. Here are the details. According to Apple’s claim, Shi worked at the company from January 2020 until a couple of months ago, when he left to go work for Oppo, a Chinese company that also makes phones and wearables, like the Oppo Watch. Apple says that in

Scientists just found a protein that reverses brain aging

Aging is particularly harsh on the hippocampus -- the brain region responsible for learning and memory. Now, researchers at UC San Francisco have identified a protein that's at the center of this decline. They looked at how the genes and proteins in the hippocampus changed over time in mice and found just one that differed between old and young animals. It's called FTL1. Old mice had more FTL1, as well as fewer connections between brain cells in the hippocampus and diminished cognitive abilit

The Radioactive Shrimp Recall Gets Jumbo-Sized

The Food and Drug Administration issued an alert earlier this week about shrimp sold at Walmart over concerns that it could be radioactive. And now more shrimp are being added to the list. Southwind Foods, a company based in Carson, California, is voluntarily recalling a limited quantity of frozen shrimp due to possible contamination with Cesium-137, according to a press release from the FDA. Cs-137 is a radioisotope of cesium that is not naturally occurring but has been present in our environm

When Starship Comes to Florida, Expect 2-Hour Flight Delays, FAA Warns

SpaceX aims to expand its Starship operations to Cape Canaveral, Florida, with a goal of launching 44 super heavy-lift rockets per year. If regulators approve this plan, the uptick in launch activity could result in more ground stops, reroutes, and flight delays at major airports throughout the Sunshine State, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. In a draft environmental impact statement released this month, the FAA states that airports such as Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood Internation

Lucy, a supporting character from the Netflix show Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, is now available as a guest character in the fighting game Guilty Gear Strive. There isn't much backstory as to how Lucy wound up in the Guilty Gear universe other than that she was in a deep dive on the net and wound up somewhere else.
