Roku has replaced its LCD-based Pro TV with two new OLED models: the Roku Pro Series OLED and the step-up Roku Pro Series LX OLED, both sold only on Amazon. The base model starts at $999 for 55-inch and 65-inch sizes with a 120Hz panel and Dolby Vision, while the LX version adds a brighter picture, wider color range, 144Hz refresh rate and anti-reflective coating for $1,299 starting October 2026.
Roku offers a free companion app for iOS and Android that lets users control their Roku devices directly from a smartphone, connecting over the same home Wi-Fi network. It replicates the core functions of the physical remote, including navigation, playback and volume controls, without requiring any purchase or subscription.

Roku announced it will stream eight Sunday night NWSL matches for free via The Roku Sports Channel, beginning with Seattle Reign FC versus Houston Dash on August 30 and ending with San Diego Wave FC versus Boston Legacy FC on October 25. The company also plans to carry a Sunday night match every week during the 2027 season.
Televisions lacking built-in Bluetooth can still gain wireless capability by pairing with streaming devices such as the Apple TV, Roku, or Fire TV Stick, all of which include Bluetooth support for connecting headphones or keyboards. A budget option like the $30 Roku Streaming Stick HD offers this feature while also modernizing the TV's software. For broader compatibility across all inputs, a dedicated Bluetooth transmitter is recommended instead.
According to a New York Times report, Netflix executives have discussed integrating third-party streaming services such as Peacock and Fox One directly into its app. It's not yet clear whether this would mean selling subscriptions to those services or embedding their content, and no deal is currently imminent.
