Using confocal imaging and single-cell RNA sequencing, they characterized osteoclasts and infiltrating tumour cells (ITCs) for markers including DLX5, SCX, TNMD, RUNX2 and COL1A1, showing these cells intersect with meningeal lymphatic structures during dural metastasis.
Researchers led by Zeng et al., publishing in Nature, report that tumours spreading to the dura—the brain's outer membrane—recruit bone-degrading osteoclast cells. These osteoclasts damage nearby meningeal lymphatic vessels, which normally drain fluid from around the brain, and weaken local immune defences against the tumour.

Meta's newly launched Muse AI assistant has drawn scrutiny after security researchers disclosed a zero-day vulnerability that Meta had to patch quickly. Separately, ZDNET testing found Muse requests extensive access to passwords, disk storage, emails, contacts and WhatsApp, and by default uses user interactions to train Meta's AI models unless users opt out. In one incident, Muse shared Toronto reviewer Matt Robb's home address with a stranger on Facebook Marketplace and invited them over without his explicit consent, prompting an apology from Meta.
