I had some brief hands-on time with the Galaxy Watch 8 and 8 Classic, and they could be Samsung’s best, despite the quirky

Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Hands-On: Gemini Arrives on Wrists and It Could Change Everything

The Galaxy Ultra’s squircle, or what the company calls “cushion” design, has trickled down to the new Galaxy Watch 8 and Galaxy Watch 8 Classic. I want to use YouTube Music for podcasts, but it keeps letting me down

Edgar Cervantes / Android Authority I like listening to podcasts when I’m doing household chores. So I recently opened YouTube Music with the intention of continuing a podcast I’d been enjoying the evening before, but instead of resuming where I left off, I found myself squinting at the screen, scrolling through a wall of music suggestions, videos, and algorithmic clutter. The podcast was nowhere in sight. YouTube Music had let me down, again. My dream is to have as few apps as possible, and t

‘People Are Going to Die’: A Malnutrition Crisis Looms in the Wake of USAID Cuts

Few lifesaving tools are as effective as ready-to-use therapeutic foods, known as RUTFs, which are specially designed to treat severe malnutrition and often resemble fortified peanut butter. Despite announcing a $50 million pledged to fund RUTFs earlier this summer, the Trump administration's deep cuts to foreign assistance have wreaked havoc on RUTF distribution globally, and the State Department hasn’t placed orders with leading suppliers this year. US court strikes down 'click-to-cancel' rule designed to make unsubscribing easy

A federal rule designed to make canceling subscriptions as easy as signing up for them has been struck down by a US federal appeals court just days before it was scheduled to take effect. The US court of appeals for the eighth circuit vacated the Federal Trade Commission’s “click-to-cancel” rule, which would have required companies to allow consumers to cancel subscriptions using the same method they used to sign up, after finding that the commission behind it failed to follow required procedur

FTC’s click-to-cancel rule has been struck down by federal judges at the eleventh hour

In 2024, the FTC was set to implement the "click to cancel" rule, which would have placed requirements on companies to be forthright about the terms and conditions and exit options for their subscriptions. Since that time, the agency has become a less independent part of the executive branch and in May, it delayed enforcing some parts of this rule to July 14. Today, the entire plan appears to be dead in the water after judges in the US Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals decided to vacate the rule.
